Lunch
The menu is displayed each week on the notice board outside the main door.
We are very fortunate at Lazonby School to have school meals cooked in our kitchen and eaten in our school hall. Menus are continuously under review, as is the whole contract for provision of meals. The mid-day supervisors look after the children in the school canteen and also during lunchtime play. Older children accept some responsibility for the younger children on their table. Children are not forced to eat food that they dislike but are encouraged to try part of their portion.
Please notify the school in advance of any special diets you wish to have catered for, and also if your child is vegetarian.
All meals are ordered by parents on-line or in school.
CHILDREN ARE ENTITLED TO A FREE SCHOOL MEAL IF THEIR PARENTS ARE ON INCOME SUPPORT. FURTHER INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE FROM THE HEADTEACHER OR THE EDUCATION OFFICE IN CARLISLE.
PACKED LUNCH
Children may bring a packed lunch. Please ensure your child's lunch box is clearly labelled.
We also offer regular themed lunches to all packed lunch children and normally invite parents to attend as well.
SCHOOL MILK and FRUIT
All children may have school milk each day at mid-morning break for a charge of 22p per day for one third of a pint. This is payable half termly in advance.
Children in Key Stage 1 currently receive a piece of fruit every day, free of charge. Children in Key Stage 2 are encouraged to bring their own fruit for break time.
